Scorcher

By | May 27, 2018

It’s been absolutely scorching (well… 18 or so Celsius) in Falkirk over the past few weeks so we’ve had to find shady walks to go on with Skye and Jake or wait until it’s cooler at night. We decided to take a trip to Carron Glen nature reserve today as it has a number of spots where… Read More »

Slow-mo shake

By | May 4, 2018

If it’s sunny then it’s too warm and Skye thinks it’s best to go in the canal. If it’s raining and she’s getting wet then she might as well go in the canal. If it’s windy she can escape the wind in the canal. If it’s snowing then the water in the canal will be… Read More »

Skye’s recall

By | May 1, 2018

We’ve been working on Skye’s recall over longer distances recently. She did quite well in this video despite not wanting to do a sit at the end (putting that down to anxiousness at Stewart still being on the opposite bank). Considering we couldn’t let Skye off-lead a year ago I think she’s doing really well.

Woodland walkies

By | April 6, 2018

I’ve managed to measure the walk we’re currently enjoying behind the Seagull trust and it comes in at just over 2 miles. This is a perfect walk for Jake and as it’s not too long or too hilly. There’s plenty of woodland and the canal path is quite quiet it means Skye can get off-lead… Read More »

A nice new walk

By | April 3, 2018

We’ve managed to find a nice woodland walk not far from our house which Jake and Skye absolutely love. Skye can now safely be let off-lead away from roads and such and the union canal provides some excellent off-lead opportunities. Skye will recall now even when there is another dog providing a distraction and she’s… Read More »

Dug beasts in the beast from the East

By | March 4, 2018

Having discovered a lovely woodland walk quite close to our house we’ve been allowed Skye off-lead to explore the woodlands. Here’s a wee video of Skye running off with Jake in tow although Jake quickly realises that it’s better to come back for a treat. Click the link to see the video.

Sugar frosting

By | January 23, 2018

Wee Jake is getting some serious sugar coating on his face, at the moment he’s having some investigations at the vet as his bladder function seems to be a bit off. His blood work has all come back OK so his kidneys and liver are functioning fine but his urine is dilute and there’s a… Read More »

Snowy days

By | December 27, 2017

The weather in Falkirk has recently been a bit on the snowy side so our walks have had to be suitably limited and Jake has had to don his wee grey jumper. The other day we walked up to the Canada wood cycle trails which are around a mile from our house. As it was a bit… Read More »
